Advanced Light Microscopy - (ALMF)
The Advanced Light Microscopy Facility provides access to advanced imaging technology to promote innovation and cross-disciplinary interaction. The facility houses laser scanning confocal microscopes, as well as systems for widefield imaging, total internal reflection microscopy, super resolution, and lightsheet microscopy. The ALMF also oversees the Precision X-Rad320 Irradiator.
BioPhysics - (BPF)
The Biophysics Facility consists of microcalorimetry (isothermal titration calorimetry and differential scanning calorimetry) and microscale thermophoresis. These approaches support research specializing in the study of characteristics of molecules and the interaction between molecules.
BioSupply - (BIO)
The BioSupply Facility provides biological research supply services and stock room capabilities. The mission of the facility is to simplify research supply ordering and receiving. In addition to maintaining a constant stock of commonly utilized consumables, the facility works with a wide variety of vendors to provide a cost savings to faculty on equipment and reagents.
Brain Imaging Research Core - (BIRC)
The BIRC facilitates scientific discovery and theoretical innovation in cognitive neuroscience and other fields by providing access to state-of-the-art equipment and methods and technical and scientific training. It supports both brain and whole-body imaging and research across the life span and on a range of clinical and nonclinical populations.
Center for Genome Innovation - (CGI)
The mission of the CGI is to provide state-of-the-art expertise in genome technologies while facilitating genomics research for faculty and students across the University of Connecticut campuses.
Computational Biology Core - (CBC)
CBC provides computational power and technical support to UConn researchers and affiliates. We collaborate with the Center for Genome Innovation (CGI) and Proteomics Core to provide full support to the research community.
Digital Experience Group - (DXG)
The Digital Experience Group (DX Group) offers mobile app design and development, web and interactive media design and programming, user experience design, and creative problem solving through code and design.
Electrical/Electronic: Tech & Repair - (EES)
The Electrical facility provides repairs, development, and consultation for a wide range of research equipment and instrumentation.
Flow Cytometry - (FLOW)
The Flow Cytometry Facility provides investigators with our expertise and sophisticated instruments for the analysis of cells or particles based on size, internal complexity, and fluorescent signals. Cytometers allow simultaneous analysis of multiple properties of cells or particles and provide information about both single cells and populations.
MCB-IVIS SpectrumCT - (IVIS)
An integrative platform that combines in vivo 2D & 3D bioluminescence/fluorescence with fast & low-dose CT imaging capabilities.
Mechanical/Glass Design & Fabrication - (MGDF)
The Mechanical Facility supports researchers by providing repairs, manufacturing consultation and engineering design.
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance - (NMR)
The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility recognizes the important role that NMR plays in molecular structure determination and conformational analysis for research projects engaging chemical synthesis, chemical mixture characterization, drug design, intermolecular interaction studies, protein and nucleic acid characterization.
Proteomics & Metabolomics Facility - (PMF)
The Proteomics & Metabolomics Facility implements ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry (MS) to unambiguously identify proteins, peptides and small molecules in complex mixtures.
Statistical Consulting Services - (SCS)
The Statistical Consulting Services (SCS) provides advice on statistical problems arising in the preparation of studies, the analysis of data and the interpretation of results. It provides a center for discussion on research problems and methodological advances in statistics and probability.
